Hi all,
As all Alfa 90 owners know, the headlights are pretty rare, especially so for RHD cars. Here in Australia, I know of a number of Alfa 90s that were taken off the road and wrecked because the owners could not find headlights. Many of these vehicles suffered this fate because the glue on the headlight glass failed and the glass fell out onto the road and smashed. Recently I checked my own vehicle and found that both the glass lenses were loose so I took the opportunity to get plastic moulds taken. I now have a number of plastic lenses that are exact replicas of the originals. From a distance of 1 metre, it is impossible to pick any difference between the original glass and the plastic copies. There might be some reduction in light but I think it would be less than 5% - I certainly can't pick the difference. The other advantage of the plastic lenses is they are more resistant to smashing from stones which are thrown up by other vehicles. After all, many modern vehicle have plastic lenses. I have 3 extra sets of lenses which I will sell for what they cost me, AUD 70 each lens or AUD 140 for a set. Anyone in the UK needs to bear in mind that these are in Australia and freight costs will need to be considered. At this price this is certainly not a commercial enterprise, and I had to have a minimum of 5 sets made. If I'm inundated with inquiries I can always get some more made, although judging by the numbers I see on the register I think that is pretty unlikely. It always seemed a shame to me that something so minor would keep a lovely old car like this off the road. Hopefully this might save a few from the scrapheap.

Hi All,
I've just become part of your world. Picked up my Alfa 90 on the weekend. This car is not going to be with me for long, it's going to compete in a charity rally. The idea of the rally, called the Sh!tbox Rally is to drive a sub $1000 car through the outback of Australia, from Melbourne to Cairns this year to raise money for the Cancer Council. Last year (from Brisbane to Darwin) I did it in a Triumph Dolomite. This year had to be an Alfa, what better car than a 90! I'm sure the river crossings won't play havoc with the electrics ;-) Anyway, here's the blog page where you'll be able to see the progress I'm making on the 90. I'm also toying with entering it into a six hour relay race later this year, that should test it out! http://www.siriuscybernetics.org.au/Siriuscybernetics/******************/******************.html (edit, the forum doesn't like the name of the rally, just go to the siriuscybernetics.org.au home page, you'll find the link) And here's the video of the fun we had last year... Part 1 http://vimeo.com/26506828 (http://vimeo.com/26506828) Part 2 http://vimeo.com/26525065 (http://vimeo.com/26525065) Part 3 http://vimeo.com/26528251 (http://vimeo.com/26528251) Cheers Stuart

After much thought, my 90 is for sale. I bought her a couple of years ago to run alongside my Series 2 Alfa Spider, and to use the 90 when the weather wasn't so good, and the Spider when it was. Trouble is, the 90 is really too good to be subjected to wet weather, I can't bring myself to do that to her, and when it's sunny, I want to drive the Spider! So somewhat reluctantly, she is for sale. Copy and paste the full link below to see the ad.

Hi,
I have just received a briefcase for my Alfa Romeo 90 that I have bought on eBay. The briefcase is almost as new (it is 26 years old after all) and the perfect accessories for my Noventa. It is the most expensive briefcase I have ever bought, hm. I'm going slightly mad..... Un saludo, El Santo |

I am documenting my car and it's build up to the present and will of course continue adding as I go.
It's only in the very early stages, I have a lot of stuff to write and photos to add! Please feel free to critique the work, add suggestions etc as I don't have all the information and want it to be accurate. http://alfaromeo90.blogspot.com/2011/01/welcome-to-my-humble-blog.html You'll have to copy and paste the link above into your browser window.
